This unique quail egg sandwich is tasty, fun, and healthy! Just 4 simple ingredients to make a healthy and hearty breakfast to last you all morning!
I received these eggs from John’s Fowl Farm in Illinois as a gift, and they have been super fun to learn how to cook with and create something tasty. Who knew quail eggs were so pretty and quaint? I highly suggest getting quail eggs to try if you have never tried them before, not only for their great nutritious benefits, but also for their uniqueness.
Health Benefits Quail Eggs
- Quail eggs have 2% more protein, nutrients and antioxidants than a normal chicken egg
- Improves metabolism by being high in Vitamin B which is known to increase metabolism

Quail eggs are a lot smaller than a chicken egg, so you need 3 eggs to equal 1 regular size chicken egg, but the benefits are much greater for each single quail egg.
After receiving these quail eggs and researching the health benefits of these eggs, I want to eat more of them! Let’s dig in!
How to make the Quail Egg Sandwich
- Mash the avocado in a bowl, adding in a touch of garlic powder. Next slice your tomato into thin slices.
- In a small frying pan, add a touch of olive oil, and briefly fry the tomato, turning it once
- Toast the bread
- Add the egg to the frying pan (once cracking it with egg scissors or with a knife to remove the top of the egg) and add a touch of salt and pepper to the top of it. *See Tip 1
- Add a touch of water to the pan with the egg in it and cover the egg for ~30 seconds to a minute to allow it to fully cook. Remove once egg white is completely white.
- Layer the avocado, tomato and egg onto the toast and serve hot!
Tips:
- Egg scissors are typically used to crack the quail eggs as their shell and membrane are very thick, but if you don’t have them, then carefully use a knife to remove the top of the egg.
- Don’t have a quail egg? Just replace the quail egg with a chicken egg.
